ice cream ducks
JFK Crossing (419 Harvard St.)
Ice Cream Ducks was created with the community in mind. It is so important to do research when creating art for the public anywhere. It is an honor coming into a space and adding to the conversation. With the electric boxes located in Brookline, MA it was important the art connected to people of all ages, especially children. I wanted kids to love an art piece so much they’d jump with joy. Having Far Out Ice Cream right there, it was important the artwork seamlessly added to the community and didn’t take away. Being familiar with the ice cream shop, and loving all the flavors and toppings, I knew I had to include parts in my design. As for the duck characters, I knew I wanted to make bird friends for Far Out’s kiwi mascot. Thank you Arts Brookline for this opportunity and welcoming my art in the town. I also have a lot of gratitude for Franklin from Cyanta Studio for installing with such great care and being so kind in the process.
